hubby called back and ask what i want to eat, he will buy for me. I asked for popiah, char kuay teow, mac fries etc.. and took my final glass of water at 425pm sharp..
Fasting begins at 430pm...
Rest and watch tv.. took my final shower for the day at 630pm.. and left the house at 7pm.
Reached Mt. Alvernia Hospital at 745pm or earlier.. Went to the registration counter to submit my admission letter. Paid deposit of $2172.30, got a 2 bedded rm at Our Lady's Ward, Level 3, St. Thomasina: 323B.
The nurses were very friendly & approachable. They brought me to my room and start asking me questions etc.. The shaving procedures started. Was really uneasy but the nurse who attended to me was pretty professional. She is a indonesian chinese. When everything was done, i was told to get myself clean up and changed into OT gown. While waiting in the ward, dh and me was watching tv..
At 10.10pm, the OT staff came for me... The moment i saw the OT bed.. i freezed... I was asked to lie down and being pushed down. Dh was with me all the way. While i was being pushed inside the OT, dh was asked to go and changed. Felt so lonely and dunno what will happen next.
Not long, the nurses got into their work. My gynae, Dr. Henry Cheng and the anaesthist, Dr. Lim came. Nice chap. Hardly felt anything when he inject the drip in me.. though the needle was abit long!! Next was ask to curl like a prawn.. and in with the epid.. i jerked twice.. He could sense that i am so kan cheong.. he inject something in me again and made me abit blur and i did abit. The numbness sets in too..
The preparation went on, covered me up wif operating sheets. DH came in.. which i didnt even realised.. My gynae got down with his cutting. Dh saw everything and not too long, the nurses, and the anaesthist was also helping to push out our bb. Our darling popped... dh was holding my hands and kept telling me... our bb has arrived!!! I was like.. finally and shed some tears of relieved and joy. So the whole process only took 15mins.
The nurses took bb for cleaning and Dh was asked to check his sex and dunno what.. then my gynae was saying.. "u are doing well, Bb will be in your arms soon" The nurse carried and left the bb in my arms.. i really cant believed that i had him inside me for 9 months and now he is out.. Missed the kicking feeling that bb has done to me. Dh and me saw the bb... he was so happy and we took a first family pic.. but hor the photographer was such a lousy one.. Then shortly, i started shivering.. the effects of the epid. I told dh to carry the bb cos i am so worried that i will drop him.. The nurse took over and dh left OT wif the bb for cleaning. When i am finally pushed out of the OT to rest and check the blood pressure... I felt so relieved.. Before i was being pushed back to my ward, i thank all the nurses and the doc who did such a job.
Dh was waiting outside the lift for me. Finally, i was pushed into my ward at 12midnight. Dh came in only when the nurses settled me in bed. Too bad dh cant stayed with me.. Actually had opt for a single ward. But no room so given a double bed instead.. Dh asked the nurse for permission to stay till a certain time.. to keep me company. I knew dh was tired.. so asked him to go home and rest... so at 1.30am, Dh kissed me goodbye.
