Ryan is now sleeping soundly while i do some updates.

I am glad that this is over.. Has been a toil for us though it's a 1hr surgery... Now have to wait for the biopsy report.

Going to get some rest.

THE DAY HAS ARRIVED...

Woke up at 5am to feed Ryan his milk... He drank 5Oz and let him sleep again.. After which, i started to prepare myself with usual routine and woke HC up to prepare and finally Ryan. Left the house at 7am, while in the car, fed Ryan with water. Throughout his journey to KKH, he was looking around.. so happy...

Supposed to reach KKH at 730am, we were late by 5 mins. Went to the Day Surgery to do registration. While waiting for your Q no, the nurses came out to ask Ryan inside the consultation room to assess him. So HC did the registration while i brought him into the room. Took his weight and ask some questions. He weighed 6kg as of 23 August 2007. After he was cleared, went on to the waiting room for the medical officer to assess him. After everything ok, we were told to wait for our schedule time. Before we could sit down the phone in the nurse counter rang and looking for Ryan Kuik... My god.. not so fast right??? So the OT nurse came and brought us up. Went into OT area.. The surgeons and nurses came and ask questions... then suddenly Ryan make a very loud noise.. AH~~~.. i thought what happen and turn around and saw the PD surgeon. Wondering if Ryan knows anything.. haha.. So i told Ryan that.. "U recognise her, do u?" Then we were brought into another room when the anaethesist came and intro himself to us and ask us questions again as Ryan had just recovered from his cough.. so he wanted to know more of Ryan's history. When everything was done, a doc came and carry Ryan and said: "Let's go ok? Alot of toys waiting for you." My blur boy smiled at the doc.. so before he went him.. i sayang him and see u later.. he smiled again.. Damned... i am so sad ok!

He went in at 850am.. so we went for our breakfast, then went to 7-11 to get some sweets and bought a piglet for Ryan.. then we quickly went up to the OT area to wait for Ryan. The time was just crawling... Then OT door opened and a nurse shouted Ryan Kuik... we quickly went there.. The surgeon is out! Timed: 945am.. The surgeon told us that she took out 2 big ones and 3 small ones and managed to clear the infected area and the 2 big ones actually break thru the skin thus the healing process will take longer and she will leave a tube there to drain out the abcess. After that the doc ask us to wait outside again as Ryan havent wake up yet.. so waited again.. another 15mins... the OT door opened again.. Ryan's mummy!! i quickly went inside.. The nurse said: "Ryan woke up liao.. crying now.. he must be hungry.. you got bring milk??" i was like.. yes.. inside the car.. so i ask HC to go get in while i was gowned up and went in to see Ryan.. Poor darling.. crying so pitiful... i almost cried out too.. He kept crying with eyes closing.. cant imagine his pain.. He is a brave boy.. managed to coax him down.. milk brought in but he doesnt want to drink.. so carried him walk around the OT recovery unit.. The medical officer was telling me that everyone was cooing over him when he went in to the OT.. he was looking around.. with curiosity and everyone in the OT loved him so much... When his BP and pressure was ok, he can go up to the ward.. HC was waiting outside.. the door opened, HC came and sayang him...

Went up to the ward, the nurses came and orientate us cos we have to stay for a day to observe.. I put Ryan down on his bed cos he was sleeping.. Due to the "happy" gas, he was sleeping most of the time.. So we quickly went for a quick lunch. We informed the nurses and went down to eat. When we come back, he was still sleeping but shortly, he opened his eyes and smiled at us.. haha.. We are happy.. at least he smiled..

The eve of the surgery.
KKH nurse called up around 3plus to give instructions on the fasting time. Took note that his last FM should be between 5am to 515am. No more milk after 530am. Water intake between 7am to 730am. After 730am, strictly no more water.

After work back home, had to pack Ryan's bag for the hospital stay. Not sure if he needs to be warded but surgeon said estimated 2 days. So make Ryan sleep and pack bag. By the time i sleep was around 1 am.. Waiting for the day to come...

Been quite awhile since i last blog on the 10th Aug 2007.

Also dunno what to write cos everything now is pending for Ryan's op on this coming thursday. Still dunno the schedule time yet. According to the Missy, they say will call us a day before in instruct us what to do.

Perhaps today i will just share a couple of pics that i took on Saturday (18/8/07). That morning he woke up rather early and since HC has gone to work, mil went out so i am home alone with him. Fed him milk and tried to make him sleep but this little terror refused.. so i play with him awhile and again tried to coax him to zzzzZZ.. again failed.. this time i brought up the bumbo seat and made him sit there with a teether.. while i go change the bedsheets.. in between when he make noise, i will go entertain him. Managed to get some nice pics out of him..

After i am done with changing of the bedsheets, i shower him and made him sleep.. this time round... after shower, nice and cooling.. so fell asleep on my clean sheets... ahaha... Now i come to think that he prefers sleeping on our bed than his own cot... Is it comfortable or he like to squeeze in with us???

Guess i will update you all again after his surgery.. Ciao...

10th Aug 2007

Today appt with PCC @ KKH. Waited for 10 mins prior to my appt time.
Took off Ryan's diapers and one look.. the PD surgeon said.. HAVE TO TAKE IT OUT!
My heart was like... why? why my bb have to go thru these? But due to Ryan cough, we have to wait for two weeks. Scheduled Op date on the 23/8 /07 (thur). PD said that if his condition is ok, he might be able to go home on the same day.. if not the max stay: 2 Days.

Left the consultation room with a heavy heart. Never expect things to turn out this way but also no choice. I believe Ryan will be well taken care and will be in good hands. Made payment and went to the admission side for financial conselling. Estimated cost for the surgery will be about $2.7k++..

Next station, brought him to AMK, SBCC to see a cough specialist. Recommended by a forum friend. Dunno how good but i am desparate already. I just want my baby to be well again.
Outcome: throat infection thus causing him to delay his recovery.. Given anti-biotics and neubelizer and cough syrup. Total cost:S$105. Expensive right??? Btw, he weighs 5.9kg and 63 cm long..

Now back home. Ryan is sleeping while i do some updates. Gotta go.. make noise liao!

HAPPY 42th BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!!

Today also grandma's birthday. Celebrated in advance in Happy restaurant.. Nice food and big serving... Will get pics from my cousin and upload...

Still in recovering mode...

It has been 7 days already... Ryan is still not well yet.. Dunno where the shoopid viral come from..

Since his visit to the clinic on 20th July, he was down with slight cough... Fed him with medicine faithfully, was on leave for the following monday and tue and half day on wed.. he was in the recovering state... But what happen??? Why was he having noisy breathing on Monday night? What happen throughout the whole Monday when we were at work? What makes him down with a bad flu and cough??? This attack was worse.. His nose was stuffy... coughing so badly till his face turn red and choked with phelgm... To whoever who passes this viral germs to Ryan.. Thank you so much... Please dun think about going near him again!

For the past 1 week, i am so damn tired... but i have to hang on... To make sure my boy fully recovers and be well again. Miss his smile and laughter so much. Thru'out his mc week, he didnt smile abit.. and this worry me and HC. We have been enclosed at home for the past week and really have to apologise to my friend for not being able to attend her wedding reception and to my bestest friends.. Sorry that i had to fly your kite again... and i seek your understanding in this issue.

Yesterday (6/7/07) brought Ryan back to Healthyway for his review. Dr. Zainal said his lungs are better, no phelgm.. Just that his throat and nose only.. We did discussed if Ryan is fit for his jabs. He said yes, then HC and i decided to let him have the jab also. Taking 5-1 cos we already had his 2nd dose of Hep B taken at the polyclinic. Took package and it cost us $350 inclusive of consultations and GST. At least we wont have to go polyclinic and Q for jab and Q again for doc's assessments. The package that polyclinic offered was only $10 difference cheaper from Healthway. So make not much difference. Next jab appointment will be in a month's time.

Finally, Ryan's milestones in the 4th month. He flipped over on the 5 Aug 2007 (Sunday). Though he is sick, but he enjoys flipping over... Ryan, be well again.. we want to see you smile again..
